    Amsterdam being  the capital of the Netherlands is mentioned as the "Venice of the North", ascribed by the huge number of canals which form a UNESCO World Heritage Site It is one of the most favoured tourist destinations in Europe , which experiences more than 4.63 million international visitors every year, which excludes the 16 million day-trippers visiting the city every year.
